What an excellent hotel! They have a sister hotel across the road called the "Rowntree Lodge". When we arrived, we were told we had been moved there. At first, we were a little apprehensive, but wow! I got a family room instead of a double, free upgrade! The rooms were clean, well stocked and the staff were happy to provide more if required (I have very strong, very milky coffee). The shower was better than most hotels I've stayed in, and the pillows were so damn comfy! They also provided a fan in each room which helped my hot-flush-suffering Mother to no end! Location is great, away from the noise but a 5 min walk to the cliff tram into The Spa - taxi into town was a very reasonable £7.80 and there were pubs and food outlets within a half mile. A little thing I loved was the guest book in the room detailing everything you can do/see/eat/drink in Scarborough; immensely helpful! We spent two nights, and if I ever go to Scarborough again, I'll be staying here! Oh, and if you like Eggs Benedict, they use smoked streaky bacon instead of ham, which was a revelation to me!
Had a lovely stay with my Grand Daughter at the Maynard boutique hotel. Met the lovely Owner who advised me on the parking for my car. I had the ground floor room which was spacious and lush and cosy. There is also a wonderful cafe on site with great coffee. Much recommended.
